MEMENTO: MEchanical thrombectomy Network for MENA TOgether:-

MEMENTO: MEchanical thrombectomy Network for MENA TOgether registry is a comprehensive and collaborative registry that aims to advance the understanding of mechanical thrombectomy treatment for acute ischemic stroke in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.

Mechanical thrombectomy is a minimally invasive procedure used to remove blood clots from blocked blood vessels in the brain, providing a crucial intervention for patients experiencing acute ischemic stroke. The MEMENTO registry serves as a centralized platform where healthcare professionals and researchers can collect and analyze data related to mechanical thrombectomy procedures performed in the MENA region.

The primary goal of MEMENTO is to create a robust database of patient outcomes, procedural details, and treatment trends to enhance knowledge about the effectiveness and safety of mechanical thrombectomy in the MENA region. By gathering and analyzing this data, the registry aims to improve patient care and guide evidence-based decision-making for stroke management.

The MEMENTO registry promotes collaboration among healthcare providers, stroke centers, and research institutions across the MENA region. It enables participants to contribute their data, share best practices, and engage in collaborative research efforts. The registry also facilitates benchmarking and quality improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and advancement in stroke care.

Through its comprehensive data collection and analysis, MEMENTO aims to generate valuable insights into patient characteristics, treatment protocols, procedural outcomes, and long-term follow-up data. These insights can inform clinical guidelines, support research studies, and ultimately enhance the quality of care provided to acute ischemic stroke patients in the MENA region.

MEMENTO: MEchanical thrombectomy Network for MENA TOgether registry represents a significant step towards improving stroke care and outcomes in the MENA region by fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and evidence-based practices in mechanical thrombectomy treatment.

Stroke Quality

The SECRET  nEurovaScular mEna Clinical REgisTry

for stroke quality is a comprehensive and confidential database that aims to collect and analyze data related to stroke care and quality measures. This registry is designed to capture information from various healthcare facilities and providers involved in stroke treatment and management.

The primary objective of the SECRET All registry is to enhance the understanding of stroke outcomes, evaluate the effectiveness of different interventions, and identify areas for improvement in stroke care. By collecting standardized data on patient demographics, risk factors, treatment protocols, and follow-up outcomes, the registry enables researchers and healthcare professionals to assess the quality of stroke care on a larger scale.

The SECRET All registry ensures the protection of patient privacy and confidentiality by implementing strict data security measures. Patients’ personal information is de-identified and encrypted to maintain anonymity and comply with privacy regulations. Only authorized healthcare professionals and researchers have access to the registry data for analysis and research purposes.

Through the analysis of registry data, the SECRET All registry aims to identify patterns, trends, and best practices in stroke care, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes, enhanced quality of care, and the development of evidence-based guidelines for stroke management.

Overall, the SECRET All registry serves as a valuable resource for stroke researchers, healthcare providers, and policymakers in their efforts to understand, monitor, and enhance the quality of stroke care on a national or international level.

MACAR (Mena Aneurysm Cerebral Aneurysm Registry)

Mena Cerebral Aneurysm Registry (MACAR)

The Mena Cerebral Aneurysm Registry (MACAR) is a comprehensive database of information about cerebral aneurysms in the Mena region. The registry collects data on the epidemiology, natural history, and treatment of cerebral aneurysms in the region, with the aim of improving the understanding and management of this condition.

MACAR is a collaborative effort between the Mena Stroke Society, the World Federation of Neurology, and the Global Neurosurgery Initiative. The registry is open to all neurosurgeons and neurologists in the Mena region, and data can be submitted online or through a mobile app.

The data collected by MACAR will be used to:

  • Estimate the incidence and prevalence of cerebral aneurysms in the Mena region
  • Identify risk factors for cerebral aneurysms
  • Study the natural history of cerebral aneurysms
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of different treatments for cerebral aneurysms
  • Improve the quality of care for patients with cerebral aneurysms

MACAR is an important resource for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers working to improve the understanding and management of cerebral aneurysms in the Mena region.

Brief Summary:
Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) is a disease that affects mainly young people, and is associated with headache and loss of vision. The medical and surgical management of IIH is problematic and many patients are not treated effectively. Some cases of IIH are associated with severe stenosis of the large veins of the brain and various researchers have recently reported significant improvement in patients with IIH after the narrow veins of the brain were treated with a stent. Our project aims to evaluate the safety and long-term efficacy of venous sinus stenting in patients with severe IIH refractory to medical management.
